Tout a commenc\u00c3\u00a9 lorsque Theaster a \u00c3\u00a9t\u00c3\u00a9 embauch\u00c3\u00a9 comme enseignant \u00c3\u00a0 l&rsquo;Art Institute et qu&rsquo;il a achet\u00c3\u00a9 sa premi\u00c3\u00a8re maison dans ce quartier d\u00c3\u00a9favoris\u00c3\u00a9 au Sud de la ville. Cette maison est rapidement devenue un lieu de rencontres, d&rsquo;\u00c3\u00a9changes (repas, musique, c\u00c3\u00a9r\u00c3\u00a9monie de th\u00c3\u00a9), entre lieu de vie, studio et biblioth\u00c3\u00a8que.<br \/>\nAujourd&rsquo;hui, cette maison est devenue un des lieux g\u00c3\u00a9r\u00c3\u00a9s par la fondation et est devenue l&rsquo;un des lieux de r\u00c3\u00a9sidences d&rsquo;artistes. Juste \u00c3\u00a0 c\u00c3\u00b4t\u00c3\u00a9 se trouve une deuxi\u00c3\u00a8me biblioth\u00c3\u00a8que et salle pour la c\u00c3\u00a9r\u00c3\u00a9monie du th\u00c3\u00a9, en face des logements pour , \u00c3\u00a0 une rue de l\u00c3\u00a0, une centre d&rsquo;art &#8211; logement sociaux et logements pour artistes, et enfin un peu plus loin, la fondation qui abrite une troisi\u00c3\u00a8me
