Le nu est un exercice bien connu dans l’enseignement artistique, permettant l’apprentissage de la relation entre le trait, particulier \u00e0 chaque artiste, et l’anatomie, qui est une norme scientifique.
Le statut de la nudit\u00e9 a \u00e9volu\u00e9 au cours des \u00e2ges mais a souvent \u00e9t\u00e9 le sympt\u00f4me de notre ambivalence par rapport aux images; entre la puret\u00e9 d’un corps d’avant la chute et la d\u00e9ch\u00e9ance d’un corps se couvrant de feuilles ou de lambeaux d’\u00e9toffes.
Que voile le nu? Entre \u00ab L’Origine du monde \u00bb (Courbet, 1866) et \u00ab Etant donn\u00e9s : 1. La chute d’eau, 2. Le gaz d’\u00e9clairage \u00bb (Duchamp, 1946-1966), il y a l’\u00e9cart entre ce qu’il y a \u00e0 voir et ce qu’on ne peut pas voir. L’iris comme aveuglement, l’obscurit\u00e9 comme possibilit\u00e9 m\u00eame du regard, fente o\u00f9 le monde trouve son origine et sa sexualit\u00e9.
La sensualit\u00e9 du nu est l’esth\u00e9tique m\u00eame du regard, qui ne peut \u00eatre touch\u00e9 qu’\u00e0 distance; un oeil touch\u00e9 par un corps devient aveugle.
Il pourrait sembler au premier abord que notre \u00e9poque est celle de la nudit\u00e9 standardis\u00e9e et que l’obsc\u00e9nit\u00e9 est \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent celle d’autres corps, f\u00e9minins, enti\u00e8rement voil\u00e9s de haut en bas, mur\u00e9s derri\u00e8re l’aveuglement du regard masculin.
Si la cr\u00e9ation artistique est une mise \u00e0 nu, un d\u00e9voilement et un voilement dans un seul et m\u00eame geste, o\u00f9 se trouve aujourd’hui notre nudit\u00e9? Que devient le nu lorsque le corps peut \u00eatre industriellement cl\u00f4n\u00e9 et que les nano-technologies investissent notre chair? Quelle est la relation entre la nudit\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9e et cette autre forme de mise \u00e0 nu \u00e0 laquelle l’exp\u00e9rience esth\u00e9tique nous convie ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Nude is a well-known exercise of the artistic process. It helps the studend built a relationship between various styles of strokes and the human anatomy, the scientific norm.
Although nudity has evolved over the ages, it will always be a symptom of our ambivalent relation to images, halfway between the purity of the body and the downfall of it, whether this downfall be tattered canvas or in the ground.
But what is the nude hiding? What lies between what can and can’t be seen? For example in works such as: \u00ab The Origin of the World \u00bb (Courbet, 1866) and \u00ab Etant donnes: 1. The sensuality of the nude is an esthetical concern, which can only be grasped from a distance. An eye touched by a body becomes blind.
At first sight, it seems that in this age we have standardised nudity, however, obscenity is still present in female bodies. Clothed and hidden they forbid men’s blind gazes.
If art is to lay bare one’s body and soul, if its role is both to veil and unveil in a single gesture, where is our nudity today? What is a nude when a body can be cloned and nano-technologies penetrate our flesh?
