A sentence is drawn randomly in one of the two languages, to which a number corresponding to its position in the text has been assigned, and the same number of sentences is also displayed in the text of the other language. As the translation is by nature offset, sentence number 10 in the French version does not correspond to sentence 10 in the English language. This shift in translation produces a translation of meaning between the two languages and constitutes another story that is not in either text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Un texte d\u2019Alain Robbe-Grillet d\u00e9crivant une ville anonyme est al\u00e9atoirement jou\u00e9 dans sa version fran\u00e7aise et dans sa version anglaise. On tire au hasard une phrase dans une des deux langues, phrase \u00e0 laquelle on a attribu\u00e9 un num\u00e9ro correspondant \u00e0 sa position dans le texte, et on affiche \u00e9galement le m\u00eame num\u00e9ro de phrase dans le texte de l\u2019autre langue. La traduction \u00e9tant par nature d\u00e9cal\u00e9e, la phrase num\u00e9ro 10 dans la version fran\u00e7aise ne correspond pas \u00e0 la phrase 10 en langue anglaise.
